TROPICS mission constellation complete

30-05-2023

The last two CubeSat satellites of the TROPICS (Time-Resolved Observations of Precipitation structure and storm Intensity with a Constellation of Smallsats) constellation have been launched on May 26th from the launch site in Māhia (New Zealand).

The 4 TROPICS satellites will observe the evolution of tropical cyclones from an inclined Low Earth orbit that will allow sequential visit of the same location every hour.

The more frequent observing capability will help enhance the forecast of the evolution of these meteorological events.

More information about the TROPICS mission can be found here.
